War against Jerusalem
Part of:
Nephi’s Quotations of Isaiah
The Kings of Israel unsuccessfully attacked Jerusalem (Judah).
When Judah learned that Syria had joined forces with Ephraim, it was afraid.
God tells Isaiah to go and meet Ahaz, the king of Judah, tell him to not be afraid and warn him of Aram and Remaliah, who have plotted against him.
God assures Isaiah that Syria and Ephraim will soon fall.
The Lords tells Ahaz to ask for an extravagant sign.
Ahaz declines.
The Lord Promises to give a sign anyway: A virgin will give birth to a son.
